The City of Beavercreek is in cleanup mode following Monday night’s severe weather. Clearing trees and debris from the roadways is the number one focus. Residents who are cleaning up can take debris, free of charge, to the Greene County Environmental Services Recycling Complex at 2145 Greene Way Blvd., Xenia, Ohio.
The road department will be primarily focused on clearing thoroughfares and roadways to ensure safe access to and from city properties. This effort is essential in supporting DP&L, Vectren, and the Police and Fire Departments in safeguarding the community.
The city will be collecting yard debris from the affected areas in and around Kemp and Grange Hall Roads within the next few weeks. The city will collect storm debris from the curb. Place debris just inside the curb, not in the street. Please cut the branches and other debris down to 6 foot lengths. Do not use plastic trash bags and do not include construction debris (e.g., shingles, windows, etc.) At a charge/fee (cash/check) residents can take construction and demolition debris to Xenia Demolition and Landfill at 588 Dayton-Xenia Road, Xenia OH. Hours are M-F 7:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m., Sat 8:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. and closed on Sunday.
Construction debris mixed with yard debris will not be picked up.
If you have large trees or other large debris and wish to use a contractor to cut it and haul it away, you might want to ensure that they are licensed, ensured and bonded. Do not be afraid to check references with the Better Business Bureau.
