[ARCHIVED] Election Signs!

Election Signs

It’s that time of year again and the City would like to make all candidates and residents aware of some of the basic rules that regulate election signs within the City of Beavercreek:

• Signs are only permitted to be placed on private property, WITH OWNER PERMISSION.

• All signs (not the small individual signs placed in your residential yard) require a zoning permit.

Permit Application Link: http://www.beavercreekohio.gov/…/…/1333/Election-Sign-Permit.  The application provides more details on the rules as well as detailed maps.

• Signs must be placed outside of the public right-of-way, which is generally behind the sidewalk or at least 15’ back from the edge of the pavement. (If there is a street sign of any kind or streetscape landscaping in the area the sign is being placed, that is public right-of-way and the sign should not be placed there.)

• In commercial districts, each property is only permitted three small elections signs and one large sign, regardless of the size of the property. (For example: At the corner of Kemp and N. Fairfield Road, that property is allowed one, 16 square foot sign, and three, 6 square foot signs.) If the property has reached its maximum allowed signs, no additional sign permits shall be granted for that property.

Please make your campaign staff/volunteers aware of these rules to reduce the number of illegal signs throughout the City. If you have any questions, please call the Planning & Development Department at 937 427-5512. Thank you!
