1. How do I purchase graves or lots at one of Beavercreek’s Cemeteries, and how much do they cost?: Please contact 937-427-5549 or 937-427-5514 or email parks@beavercreekohio.gov for sales information and costs.

2. If I purchase a cemetery plot, do I own the land, and how long do I own the rights to that plot?: When a cemetery plot or grave is purchased, the cemetery retains ownership of the land. The purchase allows the owner the right to be buried on cemetery property. The burial right ownership is in perpetuity. It can be handed down in a family or willed to another family member or friend. However, if the lot remains empty after 50 years from the date of purchase, the original owner’s family has the right to renew it for another 50 years. If this does not occur, the lot/grave will revert back to the City.

3. Can anyone in my family use the grave?: Anyone can be buried in a plot as long as the original deed owner (or heir of the deed owner) signs an affidavit allowing a person to be buried in the plot.

4. Can I sell my plot to someone else?: No, you can only sell graves/lots back to the City at the original purchase price. Please contact us for more information.

5. How can I find out if someone is buried at the City of Beavercreek Cemeteries?: Information about the decedents buried at the City of Beavercreek Cemeteries can be accessed through the "Find-a-Grave" link on our website. Records are updated regularly, so please check back for more information. If you are having trouble, please call our office at 937-427-5549, and we would be happy to assist you.

6. Does the City of Beavercreek operate Mount Zion Shoup Cemetery?: No, that cemetery is privately owned and operated. It is across the street from Mount Zion Park Cemetery which the City does manage, and has lots and graves available for purchase.

7. When are the Beavercreek Cemeteries open for visitation?: All Beavercreek cemeteries are open from dawn to dusk year round.

8. Can I plant trees or shrubs on my plot?: No, but donations of trees, shrubs and other plants are accepted.

9. What type of headstones are acceptable?: Any headstone made of natural material is allowed. It must fit on graves owned by you without overlap onto others or into the walkways.
