CITY OF BEAVERCREEK RESIDENTS NEEDED FOR
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
Members must be electors of the City. The term is for three years unless otherwise noted. A member of a board or commission shall not hold any other elected or appointed office in the City of Beavercreek or be an employee thereof. Members shall serve without compensation. Positions begin on March 1, 2020.
BIKEWAY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
2 Vacancies
MEETINGS: Second Thursday of each month.
DUTIES: To facilitate non-motorized travel within the City of Beavercreek by advocating the proper planning and implementation of non-motorized improvements. Responsibilities include ensuring implementation and effectiveness of the Beavercreek Bikeway Plan, providing assistance to the City Council and Planning Commission on non-motorized issues, and advocating for increased access and improved safety.
BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

MEETINGS: Second Wednesday of each month.
DUTIES: Shall hear and determine applications for variances from the provisions of zoning ordinances and hear and determine appeals from any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the administrative department or administrative officer who enforces and applies the zoning ordinance and the property maintenance ordinance.
COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT AREA HOUSING COUNCIL

MEETINGS: As Needed
DUTIES: This is a new council. This council will review Community Reinvestment Area projects and will work closely with the City’s Planning and Development Department.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

MEETINGS: Second Tuesday of each month.
DUTIES: To assist Council in developing policies and regulations to protect the environment.
GREENE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH

MEETINGS: First Thursday of each month Term: 4 Years
DUTIES: Represent the City of Beavercreek to uphold the mission of the department. Their mission is to prevent disease, protect our environment, and promote healthy communities and wellness in Greene County. Our vision is to be the recognized leader that addresses health outcomes, reduces health disparities, upholds standards of public health practice, and improves service to the community.
IMPACT FEE APPEALS BOARD

DUTIES: Shall hear appeals concerning impact fees for the Beavercreek Traffic System Improvement District.
PARKS, RECREATION AND CULTURE BOARD

MEETINGS: Second Tuesday of each month.
DUTIES: Shall recommend a program for the conduct of public parks, recreational and cultural facilities and advise Council on recreational matters.
PERSONNEL BOARD

DUTIES: Shall hear appeals from any non-exempt employee who has successfully completed a probationary period upon such issues as may be subject to appeal as defined by rules established pursuant to Section 6.8 (Personnel Rules and Regulations)
PLANNING COMMISSION

MEETINGS: First Wednesday of each month
DUTIES: Shall act as platting commissioners of the City and have control of planning and platting regulations within the City and shall adopt and recommend to Council a comprehensive general plan for the physical development of the City.
TAX INCENTIVE REVIEW COUNCIL (TIRC)

DUTIES: Meet annually to (1) review all agreements granting exemptions from property taxation and any performance or audit reports required by those agreements, (2) to review all exemptions from property taxation resulting from the declaration of public purpose improvements, (3) to review the compliance of each recipient of a tax exemption with the nondiscriminatory hiring policies developed by the city.
TREE ADVISORY BOARD

MEETINGS: Second Thursday of each month
DUTIES: This board advises Council regarding the planting, care and removal of trees. They recommend species and varieties of trees to be planted within the city, implement an Arbor Day observance on an annual basis and establish and maintain, on an annual basis, an inventory of City street trees.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

MEETINGS: Second Thursday of each month TERM: 2 Years
DUTIES: The primary functions and duties of the Committee shall be to organize teams to implement and promote youth programs and service-learning projects that will serve the needs of the community. The Committee shall make recommendations to the City Council and City Manager on youth community service volunteering and other matters concerning younger residents of the City. The senior members shall consist of parents of school age children or community leaders who reside in either the City of Beavercreek or Beavercreek Township. The meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at the Maintenance Facility at 4:00 p.m.
