[ARCHIVED] City of Beavercreek Police Department names new Community Engagement Officer


The City of Beavercreek Police Department is pleased to announce Officer Kris Brownlee has been named Community Engagement Officer (CEO).

Officer Brownlee was hired as a patrol officer in November 2012. He is a 2008 graduate of the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a 2010 graduate of the Sinclair College Police Academy.

While in the patrol division, Brownlee served as an Evidence Technician, Bike Officer, Field Training Officer (FTO), Regional Emergency Response Team (RERT) Negotiator, OVI instructor, and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) member. Officer Brownlee is the BPD’s Explorer Commander for the Greene County Law Enforcement Explorer Program, as well as a mentor with the Bigs with a Badge (BBBS) program and volunteer at Victory Project, a mentorship program in the Dayton area.

Brownlee has received numerous departmental letters of recognition and a department commendation. In 2015, Officer Brownlee was awarded the MADD “Top Cop” Award of Excellence in 2015 and an “Excellence in Law Enforcement” Award from the Greene County Consortium on Domestic and Sexual Violence.

CEO Brownlee will be responsible for coordinating various crime prevention and community engagement events, activities and programs, and providing public education on community policing objectives and practices within our community. He will be actively involved with planning and conducting popular youth and community programs such as Safety Town, Citizens Police Academy, Open House, and National Night Out, to name but a few. CEO Brownlee will also help to coordinate the department’s social media pages including Facebook and Twitter.
