[ARCHIVED] Beavercreek Residents Pass 2.15 Mills Street Levy

road project

Final election results released Tuesday, Nov. 22, from the Greene County Board of Elections reveal voters in the City of Beavercreek approved a 2.15 mills street levy in the 2022 midterm election.

The street levy is estimated to generate approximately $3.5 million yearly. Funds from the street levy will be used to hire five additional public service employees to help address increasing maintenance requirements and purchase equipment to address the city’s increasing number of roadway and maintenance requests. Furthermore, the city is dedicating an additional $1 million to the city’s annual street resurfacing and curb replacement program in its 2023 proposed budget, which can be viewed by clicking here.

“We want to thank the more than 20,000 Beavercreek residents who voted in this year’s election,” said Beavercreek Mayor Bob Stone. “The city appreciates their support and investment to continue moving the city forward. As always, myself and city council vow to be good stewards of this funding provided by our residents.”

“The passage of this levy will allow us to continue to improve road conditions throughout the city, including street resurfacing,” said Pete Landrum, Beavercreek city manager. “It will also permit the city to leverage levy dollars in order to aggressively continue applying for grants to fund larger road projects.”

The city will receive additional revenue from the street levy beginning in 2023.
