The City of Beavercreek is proud to announce Carol Graff, a longtime and dedicated Beavercreek resident, has been chosen as the Grand Marshal for the city’s 2023 Fourth of July Celebration. The city’s Fourth of July Committee selected Graff as this year’s Grand Marshal in recognition of her continued service and commitment to bettering the Beavercreek community.
Graff has lived in Beavercreek since 1966 and quickly became involved within the community. She began her many years of community service in 1974 as a member of the Beavercreek Township Board of Zoning Appeals and served as a Beavercreek Township Trustee for 26 years. She also served on Beavercreek’s city council, and was the city’s first female mayor for two years.
In addition to her governmental roles, Graff has actively participated in various committees, including the City of Beavercreek’s Planning Commission and Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission. Furthermore, she generously volunteered her time with organizations such as the Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County and the Beavercreek Women's League, where she held positions as president, treasurer, and newsletter chair.
Today, Graff serves as the president of the Greene County Library Board and is a member of numerous community groups. She is an active member of the Beavercreek Women's League; Beavercreek Youth Development Committee; Beavercreek Historical Society; Beavercreek Friends of the Library; Beaver Creek Wetlands Association Spotted Turtle Trail Committee; Beavercreek Township Fire Department Auxiliary; and Temple Israel, where she acts as the secretary of the board.
Graff is originally from New York City and graduated from Brooklyn College. She is a mother of four and grandmother of three.She served as an adjunct instructor at Wright State University for more than 16 years and contributed to the 2020 Visioning Committee. She also worked briefly at Beavercreek High School and held a part-time position with the Wright State University Provost.
