[ARCHIVED] Stay Connected: Subscribe for City of Beavercreek Notifications

The City of Beavercreek encourages residents to stay informed about their local government by subscribing to email notifications for meeting agendas. Through the city’s Notify Me system, subscribers receive updates when agendas for City Council, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Charter Review Commission meetings are posted. In addition to meeting agendas, Notify Me also allows residents to sign up for emergency and traffic alerts, bid postings, event announcements, and news updates.

The city’s efforts to expand digital access to public information were reinforced by voter-approved charter amendments in November 2024. These changes, which align with updates made to the Ohio Revised Code in 2023, allow ordinances and resolutions to be published electronically, eliminating the need for printed copies in city offices and libraries—a process that is both time-consuming and costly. The amendments also permit public hearing notices to be posted on the city’s website and other online platforms instead of printed publications, when legally allowed.

“We want to ensure our residents have quick and convenient access to important updates about their city,” said City Manager Pete Landrum. “Signing up for notifications is a simple way to stay engaged with local government and informed about decisions that affect Beavercreek.”

Residents can manage their subscriptions and sign up for notifications by visiting the city’s Notify Me webpage. Another way to stay up to date with what’s happening in the city is by subscribing to Beavercreek’s monthly digital newsletter, which provides information on city projects, programs, events, and other announcements.

To further promote transparency and accessibility, the City of Beavercreek mails notices about public hearings for zoning cases to property owners within 500 feet of a project’s exterior boundaries, in accordance with City Ordinance 158.079. These notices are sent at least two weeks before the hearing, ensuring affected residents have time to review and respond. While many government entities notify only adjacent property owners, Beavercreek exceeds these standard notification practices. However, due to the significant costs of printing and mailing, the city must set reasonable limits.

Additionally, all meeting agendas are posted on the bulletin board in the front lobby of City Hall at 1368 Research Park Drive.

“We are committed to keeping our residents informed and engaged,” said Landrum. “By providing multiple ways to access important city updates - whether through email notifications, public notices, or in-person postings - we are ensuring transparency and accessibility for everyone in our community.”
