The City of Beavercreek will host an open house Tuesday, Aug. 5, to share details and gather community input on the upcoming Grange Hall Road pedestrian improvement project, which will expand safe walking and biking access across a key corridor.
The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Beavercreek Senior Center, 3868 Dayton Xenia Road. Instead of a formal presentation, project exhibits and materials will be available for review, and city officials will be present to answer questions and gather feedback.
The $2.3 million project is funded by a $1.27 million federal Transportation Alternatives grant, with the remainder covered by the city’s local street levy and general fund. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2026 and wrap up by fall 2027.
The improvements will connect Dominick Lofino Park to Research Boulevard via a new sidewalk and a shared use path to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility. The project is divided into three main segments:
- Segment 1: Dominick Lofino Park to Shakertown Road
A new 8-foot-wide sidewalk will be built along the west side of Grange Hall Road, spanning about 1,500 feet. Crosswalks will be restriped as needed, and a rapid flashing beacon will be installed at the Dominick Lofino Park crossing to improve safety.
- Segment 2: Through Spring House Park (Shakertown Road to Patterson Road)
An approximate 1.1-mile paved shared-use path will be built along the east side of the park, running parallel to Grange Hall Road as outlined in the park’s master plan. The project will include a spur sidewalk connecting to Rockfield Drive and a pedestrian crossing at that location. A rapid flashing beacon will be installed at the crossing to improve safety.
- Segment 3: Patterson Road to Research Boulevard
About 1,350 feet of new 8-foot-wide side path will be built along the west side of Grange Hall Road. The existing bridge over Little Beaver Creek will be widened to accommodate the path.
The project also includes the installation of curbs and ADA-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
Community feedback will play a key role in shaping the project. Residents who are unable to attend the open house are welcome to submit comments to the city’s Engineering Division by emailing engineering@beavercreekohio.gov. To be included in the formal project record, feedback must be submitted by Sept. 5, 2025. Click here for more information about this project and other capital improvement projects.
