Biography

Don Adams is retired after spending 50 years as a national sales manager in the optical field. He continues to contribute to his community by volunteering through various roles: Neighborhood Assistance Officer at the Dayton Police Department, Vice President of the Jaycees local chapter, District Director, Squadron Commander, and Group Commander for Civil Air Patrol with the Rank of Major, Greater Dayton Emmaus Community Board Chair, Beavercreek High School Choir Department Treasurer, Beavercreek Music Parents Association President, and Beavercreek High School Friends Annual Show Choir’s Stage Manager.

Don currently serves as the President of the Beavercreek Police Citizens Police Academy Alumni and Citizens on Preventive Patrol. He is also a member of the Beavercreek Township Fire Department Auxiliary and Citizen Emergency Response Team. In 2014, Don received the Citizen of the Year award from the Miami Valley Crime Stoppers. He holds the position of President at the Wright B Flyer Museum and is a board member of the National Aviation Heritage Area.

Furthermore, Don is the President-elect of the Rotary Club of Beavercreek, a member of the Kingswood Forest Board of Directors, an Elder for 11 years at Beavercreek Christian Church, and a Beavercreek City Council member and Vice Mayor. 

In 2022, Don was honored with the E.G. Shaw Award for Lifetime Achievement by the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce and was appointed to the Board of the Family Violence Prevention Center.

Don and his wife, Ann, have been residents of Beavercreek for 45 years. They are proud parents of three children, grandparents to five grandchildren, and great-grandparents to two great-grandchildren.
