2025 Construction Projects Continuing into 2026
1. N. Fairfield Rd Reconstruction Project (Shakertown to Fairbrook School)
Project Description:
- Widening and reconstructing N. Fairfield Road between Shakertown Road and Fairbrook School to include a center turn lane, curbs, and storm sewers.
- Adjustments to the roadway profile and horizontal alignment to enhance driver sight lines and improve safety.
- The construction of pedestrian facilities on both sides of the roadway.

Status: Double Jay Construction is continuing work on this project. While North Fairfield Road will remain open throughout construction, periodic closures of side streets will be necessary. The city anticipates completing the project by late 2026, although final paving may extend into early 2027 depending on weather conditions.
2. Dayton-Xenia Rd Widening Project (Meadow Bridge to Darlington)
Project Description:
- Widening Dayton-Xenia Road between Meadow Bridge Drive and Darlington Drive, with the road expanded to five lanes from Meadow Bridge Drive to Hanes Road and three lanes from Hanes Road to Darlington Drive.
- Installing new curbing and making storm sewer improvements.
- Modifying the existing traffic signal at Meadow Bridge Drive and reconstructing the traffic signal at Hanes Road.
- Reconstructing the side path along the north side of Dayton-Xenia Road and installing a new sidewalk along the south side.

Status: Barrett Paving Materials is continuing construction of this project. As with other major road improvements, Dayton-Xenia Road will remain open to traffic during construction, though some side streets may be temporarily closed. The project is expected to be completed by late 2026.
3. Factory Rd Bridge Reconstruction Project
Project Description:
- Replacing the existing bridge along Factory Road over the Little Beaver Creek, and just north of U.S. 35.
- The new bridge will be wider to better match the adjoining pavement widths just to the north and south of the bridge, as well as a new pedestrian path.
- The new bridge was designed to have improved hydraulics to lessen the impact on flows in the Little Beaver Creek during larger storm events.

Status: The project is expected to begin in February or March 2026, with K.T. Holden as the contractor. The work will require a full closure of Factory Road for approximately five months, with a posted detour in place during that period.
4. N. Fairfield Rd at Beaver Vu Dr Improvements
Project Description:
- Widening Beaver Vu Drive at N. Fairfield Road to facilitate a westbound double left turn movement.
- Curbing and storm sewer improvements along Beaver Vu Drive.
- Modifications to the existing traffic signal at N. Fairfield Road and Beaver Vu Drive.

Status: The project is expected to begin in May 2026 to avoid peak traffic periods at nearby businesses. L.J. Deweese was awarded the contract for the construction of this project.

5. N. Fairfield Rd Resurfacing
Project Description:
- The milling and resurfacing of N. Fairfield Road from Newton Drive to Beaver Vu Drive and SR 835 from the bridge over US 35 to N. Fairfield Road.

6. Pentagon Blvd Resurfacing
- The milling and resurfacing of Pentagon Boulevard from Grange Hall Road to N Fairfield Road.

7. Grange Hall Rd Pedestrian Improvements
Project Description:
- Installing an 8-foot-wide sidewalk on the west side of Grange Hall Road from Kensington Glen to Shakertown Road and Patterson Road to Research Boulevard.
- Installing a 12-foot-wide shared use path through Spring House Park from Shakertown Road to Patterson Road.
- Curbing and storm sewer improvements along Grange Hall Road.

8. Beaver Valley Rd Reconstruction
Project Description:
- The reconstruction of the portion of Beaver Valley Road in the vicinity of I-675. This is a joint project between Beavercreek and Fairborn.

Status: The project is in the final planning phase with bidding expected to start in January 2026. The work will require a closure of Beaver Valley Road within the project limits for approximately 45 days, with a posted detour in place during that period.
9. Shakertown Rd Sidewalk
Project Description:
- The construction of a new pedestrian/bicycle path along the south side of Shakertown Road from Willow Run Drive to the school.

10. Darst Rd Culvert Extension
Project Description:
- The extension of the existing culvert along Darst Road, just south of Sierra Park Terrace. The extended culvert will eliminate a drop along the edge of roadway and will allow for guardrail installation.

11. Vayview Dr Culvert
Project Description:
- The replacement of an undersized culvert under Vayview Drive.

Project Description:
